How To Enable An Offer Popup On Your Uzanga Website

You’ve probably seen those popups on e-commerce websites asking visitors to enter their name and phone number in exchange for a discount or future offers. Good news: you can add the same thing to your Uzanga website 🎯 This feature helps you do two powerful things at once: encourage visitors to make a purchase and collect customer details for future SMS and email marketing. Here's how to set it up step by step.

Step 1: Create a Customer Segment

First, you need a customer segment where everyone who signs up through the popup will be added automatically. From your Uzanga admin, go to promotions, customer segments and create a new segment like "First Time Customers". This segment will later be connected to the popup and discount offer.

Step 2: Create the Discount Offer

Now create the discount customers will receive after signing up.

From your admin: Go to promotions, offers and create a new offer.

Example setup:

  • Offer name: New Customers
  • Action: 10% off
  • Duration: Current date and time till forever
  • Coupon code: Disabled
  • Automatic discount: Enabled

The discount should apply automatically without requiring customers to enter a coupon code.

Step 3: Add the Two Conditions

In the predicate section of the offer, there should be two conditions, so set "type" to AND, then add one child so that there are two conditions, customer must be a new customer and the customer must be in the segment you've just created. You can now go ahead and create then activate the offer.

Step 4: Enable the Offer Popup Plugin

Now it's time to activate the popup itself.

From your Uzanga admin: go to Appearance, open Storefront Plugins and find the Offer Popup plugin. Fill the fields as you'd like then save your changes.

Step 5: Test Everything

Save your changes and visit your storefront. Use a fresh email and phone number to test the popup. If everything is working correctly:

  • The customer should be added to the segment
  • The discount should apply automatically on checkout
  • The customer should appear in your customer list

Why This Feature matters

This feature quietly turns website traffic into future customers. You're building:

  • An SMS and email marketing list
  • Better customer retention
  • More repeat purchases

And customers feel rewarded immediately with a first-time discount.

Tiny popup. Heavy lifting.
